Welcome
The Monocacy Warparty is a wargaming group located in Maryland. We are a small group that gathers to play miniature wargames ranging from historical settings to the science fiction. We are located in the Gaithersburg and Frederick areas, and get together about every other week for some socializing and gaming. Our members are all family oriented folks, in our late 20's and 30's. We have individuals from all walks of life, a couple high school counselors, a couple teachers, and some government folks.
We have fought through several campaigns, beginning with the Franco Prussian campaign of 1870, then moving on to Pirates of the Spanish Main, and then a little American Civil War, World War II. We are now ready to start an AT-43 Campaign, and have a Cold War Campaign set for the fall/early winter.
We are a very laid back group, we don't have any 'rules nazis', and generally just roll a die to settle any disputes. We all want to win, but in the end our group is all about socializing, drinking, and eating with some wargaming in the background. We meet at one of our member's houses, so events are never so big that people miss out on moving their armies around.
